Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe mission for this position is to process customer sample requests.  Process outgoing shipments and prepare samples for shipment by performing the following duties to quality, productivity and company standards. 

Outcomes
  • Process daily customer service sample requests in a very busy, high demand environment.  Requires extended periods of time in a freezer.
  • Determine method and mode of shipment to customer requirements. Shipping carriers include UPS, FedEx, and domestic trucking and international shipments.
  • Prepare and expedite  shipments: Determine labeling requirements including but not limited to:  Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required.  Prepare all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner.  Post weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
  • Proper operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirements.
  • Process and ship samples following company quality standards.
  • Process employee store orders within 2-3 days from receiving the order.  If exceptions need to be made, communicate with HR so they can inform employee of delays.
  • Prepare products for sample presentations for visiting customers or clients.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials/supplies, samples, and retail product in sample area.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Organize work area for orderliness and maintain cleanliness of area to comply with SQF Standards.
  • Wear the proper and required safety equipment.
  • Regular daily routine requires contact with other employees, sales and management.  Some contact with outside clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • One or more years related experience and /or training in a shipping and/or food-processing environment where main focus was in the shipping department.
  • Computer experience.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently and seek guidance when necessary.
