Reports to: Senior Director, Brand StrategyJob Summary
Our Integrated Strategy Team at Calcium works at the intersection of client challenges and creative campaigns to build powerful, engaging brands rooted in sharp clinical expertise. As part of this team, the Associate Brand Strategist acts as a puzzle solver. Under the mentorship of the Brand Strategist and Associate Director of Brand Strategy, this individual immerses themselves in the foundations of their assigned brands and monitoring of trends to help identify the audience for the brand’s communications. Additionally, the Associate Brand Strategist embodies the Calcium core values of commitment, integrity, and respect, both in their work and in their relationships with their co-workers and external clients., integrity, and respect, both in their work and in their relationships with their co-workers and external clients.
Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
- Brand Exposure: Builds a foundational understanding of the background of our client’s products or brands
- Competitive intelligence and monitoring: Develops a watchful and discerning eye for key competitors, trends, and movements in the market to keep our teams (and clients) up to speed on major challenges or opportunities
- Audience identification: Helps define clear target audiences through rich personas and distinct segments as needed
- Insight development: Assists in discovering and crafting sharp, fresh, and actionable insights about the category and consumer context in which our brand operates
- Brand building: Navigates market research and collaborates on brand building blocks such as positioning, vision and values, personality, and more
- Analytics and reporting: Collaborates with analysts and SMEs to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure success in market, informing optimizations as needed
- Comms and tactical planning: Is a core part of collaborative agency efforts to develop tactical programs and annual plans, communications calendars, and content strategies/matrices
Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
- Internship experience or 1+ years in a strategy-focused or similar role; exposure to healthcare or pharmaceutical marketing a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office, Keynote
- Strong communications skills in a variety of formats
- Exposure to data analytics, preferably Google Analytics or Adobe
- Experience with market research
- Familiarity with the preferred integrated marketing disciplines:
- SEO/SEM
- Relationship management (RM, CRM, PRM)
- Customer experience (CX)
- User experience (UX/UI)
- Social media
- Content strategy
- Goes above and beyond the job description and has the willingness to be flexible for the team, agency, and ultimately the work
