Position Summary 

We are seeking an experienced NYC District Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales quotas and driving growth within their assigned state, with a particular emphasis on K-12 education and literacy initiatives. They will lead a team of Account Executives, guiding them in implementing strategic initiatives to expand our market presence and enhance customer satisfaction in these areas. They will oversee the development, direction, coordination, and execution of state level strategic plans while ensuring alignment with the regional and national sales strategy. This role will function as a business leader for their assigned state and leverage the CRM as the command center for go-to–market strategy. The NYC District Sales Manager may be required to maintain their own individually assigned territory within the territory they manage.


Responsibilities  

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Account Executives to meet and exceed sales goals. Provide coaching and support to enhance their performance and professional development. 
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive threats within the K-12 education and literacy sectors within the state. Utilize insights to inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the K-12 education sector, including school districts, educational institutions, and government agencies. Understand their needs and tailor solutions to address them effectively, with a focus on improving literacy outcomes. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success, to ensure alignment and drive overall company objectives related to our educational products. 
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data, and generate reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.  
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales activities, achievements, and challenges in these areas. 
  • Drive a team selling environment to differentiate EPS in the market and provide value to the customer. 
  • Provides customer insight and competitive intelligence to marketing and product development to drive innovative solutions. 


Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of successful sales leadership/management 
  • Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and insurance. 
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred. 
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, preferably within the education sector, with a focus on K-12 education and literacy. 
  • Strong understanding of the K-12 education on landscape in New York City, including familiarity with educational standards, policies, and funding mechanisms related to literacy initiatives. 
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve goals. 
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights. 
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software is a plus. 
  • Hold a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and possess an automobile.  
  • Travel Requirements: Anticipate travel ranging from 30% to 80% of the time, depending on seasonality, including regular overnight trips and occasional weekends. Emphasize the exciting opportunities for networking and professional growth that come with attending conferences and exhibits.
