Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY

Primary responsibility of the Quality Specialist is to ensure NDE field personnel are meeting customer project requirements and expectations by identifying and resolving deficiencies in company processes or executions that relate to project deliverables. Reviews pipeline integrity field data and ensures proper reporting methods are used to meet client requirements and industry standards. Ensures efficient operation of the office by supporting managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to the organization’s overall operations. Assists in the maintenance and inventory functions associated with relative equipment. Interacts with field technicians and clients to improve overall quality processes and expectations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Communicate with management and field technicians to outline project requirements and expectations.
  2. Prepare documents in accordance with NDE Quality Assurance manual and procedures to reflect current client requirements regarding NDE technique and reporting expectations.
  3. Coordinate with Field Technicians to ensure all documentation is submitted to TIR in the required time frame.
  4. Audit reports and deliver to customers in a timely manner.
  5. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of NDE equipment, including implementing a functional tagging system and communicating to management any needs for purchase or calibration.
  6. Investigate client or technician complaints of internal issues with reports that need fixed and/or corrected.
  7. Collaborate with management to develop new products, designs, and training methods as needed.
  8. Assist management with technician training.
  9. Reply to general information requests with timely and accurate information.
  10. Contribute to team/departmental efforts by accomplishing tasks and results as needed and expected.
  11. Review, analyze and create various operations reports as needed.
  12. Travel to job sites as needed (less than 10% annually) to support auditing functions and/or equipment delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Associate degree in quality or related preferred; minimum of 2 years in a quality-centered role, pipeline maintenance, and/or NDE field experience to include Automated Ultrasonic Testing systems, CreaformÒ Laser Scanner, and Phased Array.
  • Ability to maintain and calibrate NDE equipment and/or recommend repairs preferred.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate across functional lines.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Productive work habits include attention to detail, follow through and the ability to prioritize and complete work activities in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to assist in creating a department atmosphere which encourages motivation, innovation, and high performance.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Windows at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to detect and mitigate risks associated with non-conformance.
