Summary: Responsible for preparing dental models and impressions according to Great Lakes Dental Technologies procedures and standards.
Department: Laboratory
Functions: Model Prep
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent to the job.
- Accurately trim and prepare models for further processing, including creating stable bases for accurate articulation.
- Collaborate with other team members, including technicians and dentists, to ensure the accurate interpretation of prescriptions and the achievement of desired outcomes.
- Pour dental stone or other materials into impressions to create accurate replicas of patients' dental arches. Articulate models to simulate the patient's bite.
- Maintain accurate records of all models and impressions, including tracking their progress through the production process.
- Completes assigned processes according to Great Lakes standards and time constraints.
- Performs Quality checks on product to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and absence of defects in prepared models.
- Maintains Laboratory equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Maintains clean laboratory workspace.
- Cross trains on required laboratory jobs.
- Remains current and adheres to all safety and occupational health policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements to Hire:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. No previous education or experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to producing high-quality results

- Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
