We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at a stone countertop fabrication company. The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by working closely with the leadership team and directly with the accountant. The primary responsibilities of this role include handling financial transactions, recording and organizing financial data, assisting with financial reporting, performing clerical duties, and providing administrative support to achieve our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions:
  • Record and organize financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and balance sheets, accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify transaction details for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in processing and organizing financial information for management, including preparing financial statements, reports, and analysis as required.
  • Collaborate with the accountant to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making and achieve financial goals.
  • Clerical Duties:
  • Answer phones and respond to emails promptly, providing assistance and information to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents, contracts, and other paperwork, ensuring easy access and retrieval as required.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for the leadership team and assist in coordinating logistics as necessary.
  • Administrative Assistance:
  • Provide administrative and bookkeeping assistance to the accountant, including data entry, reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies in financial records.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (particularly Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recording and organizing financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and external contacts.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
