The successful employee will be able to devise experiments and analyze results, develop 3D models using SolidWorks, work on a project from conceptualization to completion, and write technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers and project leads to fully understand product requirements and develop cost effective and innovative solutions
  • Design and develop components based on product and customer requirements
  • Create solid models, parts, assembly, and inspection drawings, as well as product travelers
  • Design products that fit our manufacturing capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with company standards
  • Material procurement as required; place purchase orders, manufacturing work orders, and work with vendors to manage delivery schedules
  • Develop laboratory test plans to ensure compliance with customer’s key product characteristics
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain security clearance as it applies to ITAR and EAR regulations
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Prior experience creating 3D models and drawings with SolidWorks or other CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • 5 years of research experience
  • Experience designing and running thermofluids experiments in a laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations (CNC milling, turning, TIG welding, Laser Welding)
  • Experience with programming in Python, Matlab, or other language
  • Experience with data acquisition and test automation in a laboratory environment including LabView
