As a contract and private label manufacturer, Valentine Enterprises Lawrenceville facility is a 300,000 square feet state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This facility is equipped for contract blending, filling, bulk fills and flexible packaging solutions. In addition, VEI staffs a full product development lab that excels in flavor profiles and custom formulation, making each product precise and unique.

Job Description

Summary/Objective:  Responsible for the service, repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery as instructed by the maintenance manager, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to VEI’s policies and procedures.

  • Comply with all safety and SOP procedures
  • Install New Equipment
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Production Equipment
  • Maintain Spare Parts Inventory
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment
  • Help increase equipment reliability
  • Fabricate parts for equipment repair
  • Overtime required including weekends
  • Adhere to company attendance policy by being  at work when scheduled and on time.  Hours are 4:30pm to 3:30am

Non-Essential functions:

  • Operate a forklift
  • Assist in the training of employees
  • Maintenance building repair

Work Environment:  This job operates in a manufacturing, warehouse environment. This role routinely uses various lift devices, hand tools, power tools, multi-meters, lock out tag out devices, diagnostic tools, megohmmeter, infrared cameras, and standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, photocopiers, scanners and filing cabinets.

Qualifications

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical training; exposure to manufacturing equipment.
  • 3 years of related experience working on manufacturing/production machines.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical
  • Experience using miscellaneous shop/hand tools
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic computer data entry skills.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and troubleshooting abilities of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

  • Technical degree in industrial maintenance
  • Knowledge of safety, computers, record keeping and scheduling practices strongly encouraged
  • Prior experience with electricity, electronics and PLC preferable

Certification required

  • Forklift certified

Essential Functions Cognitive (Reasoning):  Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, in books, manuals, and mathematical or visual form.  Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Employee will occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, perform straight pulling, pulling hand over hand, reaching over shoulder, sit for extended periods of time, run, crawl, climb using legs and arms, use acute vision, and night vision.  Employee will frequently push, kneel, repeatedly bend and have acute hearing ability.  Employee will continuously lift and carry up to 15 pounds, use fingers for grasping, use both hands, walk, stand, use well developed coordination simultaneously, read with attention to detail in English seeing activities near and far, use peripheral vision and depth perception, distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, smell, and have routine hearing abilities.

Employee will occasionally be exposed to human waste, radiant heat, electrical energy, slippery or uneven walk surfaces, working on ladders or scaffolding, working below ground, working with fire or broilers, explosives, combustibles, working alone and working with hands in water.  Employee will frequently work with solvents, work irregular hours, and be exposed to vibrations.  Employee will continuously work in an inside environment, work around, work around machinery with moving parts, and will work closely with others. Employee will continuously work inside, be exposed to excessive noise, dust, grease and oils, electrical energy, working around machinery or moving parts, working with sharp instruments, cleaning supplies/abrasives and working closely with others.

Travel:  Minimal travel required - ability to travel infrequently for activities and to other VEI facilities.
