Overview

AutoCAD Technician is responsible for creating and modifying technical drawings using AutoCAD software. AutoCAD Technician works with engineers, architects, and designers to ensure the accuracy and precision of the MEP drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to create detailed AutoCAD models and plans.
• Utilizing AutoCAD tools to create 2D and 3D drawings, elevations, sections, and details.
• Collaborating with design teams to review and refine drawings, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Maintaining and organizing project documentation, including drawings and revisions.
• Providing technical support to other team members as needed.

• Coordinate with the client, the MEP/FP/IT design teams, and other engineers to ensure the design is consistent with the client’s vision, to identify and resolve areas of conflict, to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design, and to ensure the design schedule is maintained.
• Participate in meetings and conference calls when necessary.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, and other software to create document packages.
• Maintain company AutoCAD standards, protocols, and execution.
• Modify architectural CAD files for use in MEP design drawings (clean-up, audit reference, troubleshoot if needed).
• Ability to perform basic tasks in Revit such as importing and exporting of building information models into AutoCAD drawings, setting up Revit models, navigation of Revit models, etc.
• Assist with design teams with preparation of jurisdictional comment response letters.
• Prepare projects for client submissions.

What We Are Looking For:

• In possession of or ability to obtain an Associate, Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Computer Aided Drafting or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum of two years of experience using AutoCAD in a commercial environment.
• Preferred ability to modify client BIM files for use in MEP design drawings.
• Exceptional communication and organization skills, including ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work independently and efficiently upon receiving necessary direction and information.
• MEP experience with commercial buildings is a plus, training is provided in any case.
