Job Description

The Child Advocacy Center, as part of Family & Children's Place has a full- time opening for a mental health therapist.

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health services for children and their non-offending caregivers when there is a concern about child maltreatment. Provides interventions, coordination, collaboration, and advocacy services on behalf of children and families. In all responsibilities, supports the agency's equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts as well as all agency trauma-informed services and policies.

Requirements

  1. Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a social work or related mental health field required.
  2. Certification to practice Social Work or a related mental health discipline in Kentucky required; advanced licensure strongly preferred (e.g. LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
  3. Must have a minimum of two years of direct experience with children and families in a therapeutic setting.
  4. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Screening Requirements

Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse and Neglect check, pre-employment drug and TB screenings.
