Role Overview

The Warehouse Manager oversees the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring the timely receipt, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining accurate inventory records. This role involves implementing best practices for inventory management and warehouse operations, and collaborating with other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the warehouse, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, to ensure smooth operations and optimal productivity.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
  • Monitor inventory levels and usage patterns, and develop strategies to optimize inventory turnover, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to reconcile physical stock with system records, and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and logistics teams to forecast inventory needs, plan replenishment orders, and optimize supply chain processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices for handling, storing, and transporting goods, including hazardous materials, if applicable.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to track inventory movements, generate reports, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate fleet operations and assets.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison between the warehouse and other departments, such as sales, customer service, and finance, to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure alignment of goals and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Proven experience working within a warehouse, with a strong track record of success in optimizing warehouse operations preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse management principles, inventory control techniques, and best practices for logistics and distribution.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and other relevant technology tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to warehouse operations.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean Background Check – Criminal and Driving
  • Understanding of construction sites
  • Experience in the alarm or electrical fields is helpful, but not necessary

Work Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting up to 80 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
