As a Legal Secretary within our Business Litigation Practice Group, you will play a critical role in supporting 2 distinguished partners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, where your contributions will directly impact our success and client satisfaction.Job Description:
  • Provide high-level administrative support to 2 partners in the firm's Business Litigation practice group.
  • Provide high-level legal and admin support to 2 partners focused on business litigation matters pertaining to the following areas: Automotive, business litigation, corporate litigation, product liability, financial services/litigation, and shareholder litigation.
  • Assist with electronic and hard copy filing, drafting correspondence, organizing documents, and scheduling meetings.
  • Calendar Management: Maintain litigation calendars for two attorneys, ensuring all court dates, filing deadlines, and important dates are meticulously organized and managed.
  • Communication Liaison: Respond to inquiries from legal and administrative staff, directing them to team members.
  • Trial Preparation: Support trial, hearing, and deposition preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and ensuring all necessary materials are ready for court.
  • Legal Documentation: File legal documents with court dockets and serve documents to opposing parties by court rules + procedures.
  • File Organization: Maintain organized electronic and physical files to facilitate easy access for attorneys and team members.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and addressing their needs promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date client files, both physical and electronic, ensuring easy retrieval and adherence to confidentiality protocols.
  • Coordinate and manage attorney schedules, including arranging meetings, appointments, and court dates, while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide attorneys with pertinent information and updates on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, billing, and correspondence, to ensure the smooth operation of the practice group.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Litigation Attorneys or Practice Groups.
  • Associate's degree or certification in paralegal studies preferred, but not required with relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Attributes: Proactive, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research databases, and case management software.
