Job Title: Behavioral Health Clinician (Full-time/non-exempt)

Reports To: Outpatient Program Manager w/oversight by Sr.Director of Clinical Services

Summary:

The Behavioral Health Clinician will spend the majority of their time conducting and documenting clinical assessments and client evaluations.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Conducting Biopsychosocial assessments
  • Utilization reviews, discharge summaries and other documentation for insurance and government contract clients
  • Crisis and clinical support to programs as needed
  • Group facilitation
  • Case management and therapy
  • Reviewing and finalizing AOD registered counselors progress notes
  • Reviewing and finalizing ASAM and Treatment Plans
  • Mental Health Evaluations
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Biopsychosocial assessment
    1. Conduct full Biopsychosocial interviews with new and existing clients; perform mental status exams.
      1. Perform duties within given timeframes; meet or exceed weekly Biopsychosocial quota.
    2. Meet with insurance clients to conduct utilization reviews and document medical necessity.
    3. Document discharges for insurance clients in a timely manner.
  • Crisis and Clinical Support to Programs
    1. Assist programs with clinical and mental health needs as they arise.
  1. Conduct crisis intervention sessions and assess for client stability; suicide and/or Tarasoff assessment may be needed.
  • Individual Sessions
    1. Conduct mental health evaluation, assessments, and individual sessions. Family and/or couple counseling as needed.
  • Group Facilitation
    1. Conduct group counseling and educational groups as part of regular daily duties.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
    1. Attend weekly treatment team meetings to provide clinical guidance and support.
    2. Attend staff meetings as scheduled to provide clinical guidance and support.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the client care landscape with at least two to three years’ experience. Master’s degree needed. If fully graduated, registration with the BBS is a must. If still working towards a degree, registration as a “Radt graduate student” with CCAPP needed. In addition, the following are strongly desired:

  • AMFT, ACSW, APCC or PsyD Intern credential required.
  • Experience with mental status exams and diagnosis a plus.
  • Responsive to feedback and a team player while also being able to work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Computer skills is a must.
  • All hours towards this position would be in addition to your existing commitment to CLARE|MATRIX.
  • Opportunity to gain BBS supervised hours.
  • Potential on-call, evening and weekend hours.
  • Hourly rate base on experience.

Medical History:

All employees whose functions require or necessitate contact with client or food preparation shall complete a health screening report or a health questionnaire. Health screening report or health questionnaire will be provided upon hire. For all residential employees a health screening report be completed and signed off by a medical practitioner signature for clearance. All outpatient employees will complete at minimum a self-report screening questionnaire.

TB test are to be conducted under licensed medical supervision not more than 60 calendar days prior to or 7 calendar days after employment and renewed annually from the date of the last tuberculosis test. Staff with a known record of tuberculosis or record of positive testing shall not be required to obtain a tuberculosis skin test. Unless there is documentation that the staff completed at least 6 months of preventive therapy, the staff shall be required to obtain, within 45 calendar days of employment, a chest x-ray result and a physician’s statement that the incumbent does not have communicable tuberculosis and has been under regular care and monitoring for tuberculosis. A chest x-ray within the prior 6 months is acceptable. The physician’s statement shall be renewed annually.

Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
