- Salary Range: $20-$24 Hourly Range
- OBJECTIVE (POSITION SUMMARY)
The primary role of the claim’s agent is to assist the compliance department with processing claims, high value request and issue COIs within the company for stations and their customers. The elected person for this role will be exercising consistent independent judgment and decision making while leading and motivating employees to deliver the highest level of customer service. Job duties may be added or taken away due to operational / business needs and requirements.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
In this position, the Claims Agent is responsible for:
- Opening/Closing Claims
- Obtaining High Value Approvals from Ins. Company
- Monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date on the claims desk.
- Review documents request for open claims.
- Issue COI requests for stations.
- Generate and distribute weekly and monthly claims reports by station
- Pull open claim reports and check for missing documents or freight charges unpaid.
- Upload settlement checks and letters to claims desk.
- Submit check requests for claims settlements
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, prepare and assemble documents or reports containing data from several sources.
- Ability to recognize, prevent and resolve problem situations.
- Ability to be a team player and establish priorities and meet goals.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma required
- 1 years’ experience required in insurance or freight forwarding background.
- Freight Forwarding experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of North American geography.
- Experience in Transportation or Logistics industry is an asset.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Outlook, Word.
- Intermediate computer skills required in Excel
- Working knowledge of Transportation Management Software is an asset e.g. SAP, Cargowise.
- Business Strategy Skills
- Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills (in a team environment).
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Team cooperation and respect is required.
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
- Accurate and detail oriented.
- Work Schedule
- Set working hours of 8 hours per day with requisite meal and rest breaks.
- Consistently report to work on time, prepared to perform required duties.
- Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.

*** Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to an individual’s education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
