City Care is searching dreamer and leader to help us operate a low-barrier night shelter for men, women, families and pets. This person will report to the Senior Director of Homeless Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead through agency's strategic direction for all aspects of shelter operations.
- Hire, train and manage a gritty team of advocates committed to ending homelessness in Oklahoma City.
- Represent the agency and the shelter in diverse communities of stakeholders, donors and guests.
- Serve as a member of the City Care management team and a liaison between the shelter and other program staff and board of directors.
- Facilitate access to services, through the development of staff capacity to understand and demonstrate principles of welcoming, client-centered, culturally competent care that is responsive to the needs of people experiencing homelessness, disconnected and marginalized neighbors.
- Manage budgets, contract requirements and program outcomes.
- Ensure data compliance and tracking;
- Ensure adherence to internal agency policies and procedures.
- Implement operational policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain high standards of service
Requirements:
- Embody City Care Values
- Previous experience in case management, recovery, or justice work. Or previous experience working with adults and children living with disabilities.
- Ability complete data entry on time and without errors. HMIS experience preferred.
- Pre-employment background check, driving record, and UA.
- Must have a current Oklahoma driver's license, reliable transportation and updated car insurance.
- Deep understanding of the complexity of homelessness, poverty and addiction
- 5 years removed from any lived experience related to recovery, homelessness, or permement supportive housing residency.
Preferred:
- Professional experience navigating mental and physical health systems, benefits and resources
- Previous shelter experience
- Bachelors Degree, equivalent lived or work experience
M-F 10am - 7pm
with every 7th week off for PAID REST WEEK.
