Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist CWR
Location: Hackensack, NJ

Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Assist with intubations and manage ventilators.
  • Gather information necessary to evaluate patient needs, including disease education and consultations with other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Develop rapport and mutual respect with patients/caregivers and team members to foster an optimal environment for goal achievement.
  • Provide and document education to patients/caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand for at least 1 hour a day.
  • Maintain regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
  • Strong sense of accountability for improving patient and caregiver outcomes.
  • Exceptional focus on teamwork and delivering high-quality care with a strong sense of patient focus.
  • Active NJ license required.
  • 1+ year of recent experience working as a licensed RRT required.
  • 1+ year of ICU experience required.
  • Previous experience with ventilators required.
  • Willingness to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor.
  • Every other weekend and holidays required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • BLS - AHA
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.

Languages:

  • English (Speak, Read, Write)

Schedule Notes:

  • Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
  • 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Every other weekend required
  • At least 1 holiday required
