In order to continue growing our inventory-forward concept and roll out new stores, we’re looking to add another member to our Purchasing Team who is forward-thinking, data-driven, and experienced in Foodservice equipment and supplies.

Position Summary

  • Purchasing Assistant reports directly to Ownership
  • Full-time

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase orders for selected brands, analyzing, and adjusting to optimize profit
  • Negotiate pricing and other terms, often including freight, reconciling discrepancies and maintaining necessary records.
  • Execute timely, independent decisions and determine appropriate course of action based upon best practice and customer requirements
  • Meet with sales & support teams to get feedback on existing product mix and source ideas for new lines & opportunities with new or existing factories.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on customer needs and timely delivery of equipment and services.
  • Assist with pricing strategy by periodically reviewing competitive landscape and market conditions.
  • Analyze sales data and performance of specific brands/SKU’s/product categories to inform buying strategy.
  • Seek to maximize profitability whenever possible.
  • Strong organizational retention skills required.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relations with customers and vendors
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong relationship building skills.

  • Experience with importing/private label products a PLUS
  • Sporadic travel to showroom locations strongly encouraged.
  • Create Spec sheets for new items
  • Manage new item product upload process
  • PO tracking/logistics
  • Manage Amazon + RC.com assortment + pricing strategy
  • Oversee and assist in resolving warranty/service issues for select vendors

Additional needs:

  • 2+ years of foodservice equipment purchasing or estimating experience preferred
