Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely payments to vendors and suppliers. This role is critical in maintaining strong relationships with vendors and supporting the financial health of their organization.

Main Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist

  • The Accounts Payable Specialist will process invoices accurately and efficiently, matching them with purchase orders and receiving documents.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors via check, ACH, or wire transfer, ensuring adherence to payment terms and deadlines.
  • The Accounts Payable Specialist will investigate and resolve issues related to accounts payable, including inquiries from vendors and internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and vendor information in the accounting system.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and accruals related to accounts payable.

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations related to accounts payable.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
