Brief Summary:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all facilities within the organization. This role includes managing a team of maintenance staff, coordinating with vendors and contractors, ensuring that all building systems are operational, and maintaining a safe and compliant environment. The Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that all facilities are kept in excellent condition to support the organization's operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates all building maintenance staff.
  • Develops work schedules and ensure adequate coverage for project deadlines.
  • Fosters a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversees routine and preventative maintenance activities for all facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Coordinates and manages repair and renovation projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develops and implements maintenance procedures and protocols following the W.E.L.L. standard.
  • Source and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Monitor and approve invoices related to facilities maintenance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities.
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Monitor and control expenditures to stay within budgetary limits.
  • Provide regular budget reports to the Director of Facilities.
  • Plan and execute facility upgrades and improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and Chief Engineer on long-term facility planning and capital projects.
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment and systems.
  • Execute emergency response procedures for facilities as needed.
  • Be on-call for emergencies and coordinate the response to facility-related incidents.
  • Works a variety of shifts, as needed to include nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the job scope.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
  • Certification in related maintenance technician, electrician, painter, HVAC mechanic, plumber, or mason trade., or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven experience in vendor and project management.
  • Must have a valid drivers license to drive Club vehicles.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stands and walks for 95% of workday.
  • Lifts up to 25 lbs. for 85% of work
  • Stoops, crawls, and kneels to complete work assignments.
  • Works outdoors in inclement weather 90% of the workday.
