Laboratory Technician

Details:
- Under the general supervision of the Medical Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician performs venipuncture as well as a variety of routine laboratory procedures and other diagnostic tests as required by and in support of the Medical Department of the New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc.
All NHFHS Company employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Education:
- Completion of phlebotomy course, including an externship in a clinical laboratory setting
- Receiving on-the-job training in lieu of phlebotomy course and one year of work experience
Licensure/Certification:
- Obtained certification as a certified phlebotomy technician and HOLDS a certificate acceptable to NHFHS. Must be certified by a national phlebotomy certification association.
Knowledge and Skills:
- One year of phlebotomy experience; drawing geriatric and pediatric patients
- Has working knowledge of basic methods, material, techniques and equipment used in medical laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of specimen collection, preparations, record keeping, quality control laboratory hazards and safety practices
- Have normal color perception and excellent dexterity
