Electrical Process Engineer

Scope of Position
The Electrical Process Engineer role is an intermediate-level position within the Process Engineering department. This role requires a solid foundation in engineering principles and the ability to work independently with minimal coaching. Key responsibilities include daily improvements in the assigned production area, managing small capital projects, and participating in focus teams at a high level.
Responsibilities
- Design, layout, and estimate for the installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment in the plant.
- Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including workshops, Kanban, visual management, 5S, and total productive maintenance.
- Use formal problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Initiate and manage productivity and cost-saving projects.
- Implement and maintain process controls using advanced quality planning techniques such as FMEA, key characteristics management, and mistake-proofing.
- Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations.
- Prepare capital expenditure requisitions and manage capital equipment projects.
- Stay current with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.
- Participate in developing strategic manufacturing processes and assist in short and long-range capital planning.
- Prepare and coordinate implementation schedules for major projects and process changes.
- Develop and maintain relevant process documentation (e.g., routings, standard work, work instructions, setup sheets) to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze proposed engineering changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility.
- Participate in developing and maintaining ISO 9001 procedures and documents for the Process Engineering department.
- Assist Purchasing and Quality Assurance in qualifying suppliers for new products or product changes.
- Attend training opportunities as deemed necessary by management.
- Lead and support automation initiatives within the plant.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering preferred (Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics Engineering Technology).
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving complex problems.
- Proficiency with RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with PLC programming and wiring.
- Experience working with cobots and robots.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, exercising good judgment to reach sound conclusions.
