The Senior Process Engineer at Axens North America will take charge as both a process engineer and a process supervisor, focusing on the creation of design packages, technical studies, and comprehensive proposals. This role requires minimal oversight from management regarding process technology guidance.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe individual will be responsible for the development and upkeep of process documentation by:
- Designing the flow scheme
- Simulating the operational unit
- Creating detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Material Flow Diagrams (MFDs), and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Specifying all necessary equipment, piping, and instrumentation
- Reviewing the work of junior engineers
- Demonstrating expertise in material selection for diverse services and technologies
- Understanding system engineering requirements and their implications
- Documenting the process in a comprehensive process book
- Drafting operating instructions
- Assisting Technology Experts or Technical Services personnel on-site
- Leading the preparation of technical proposals
- Conducting Process Studies and implementing technology enhancements
- Participating in the commissioning of industrial facilities
- Training client personnel
- Contributing to the development of Methods, Standards, or Procedures documentation
- Optimizing industrial processes from conception to startup
- Evaluating unit performance through data collection and analysis
- Managing projects while effectively communicating all phases of the process and implementing necessary control points or improvements
- Establishing process control standards and Standard Operating Procedures
- Exhibiting a thorough understanding of Design & Development Procedures
- Utilizing all Process Engineering tools proficiently
- Leading revamp projects
- Assuming project management responsibilities for studies and smaller projects
- Evaluating product pools
- Providing process engineering support to Technical Services or operational units
- Employing process simulation modeling tools (e.g., Pro II) effectively, including troubleshooting
- Applying safety methodologies and conducting reviews (e.g., Process Hazards Analysis, Layers of Protection Analysis)
- Understanding project economic analysis and utilizing economic models
- Willingness to travel globally up to 20%
- Maintaining regular communication with clients and EPC
- Implementing the Management of Change process
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Over ten years of experience in the refining or petrochemical industry, with a proven ability to manage multiple assignments independently and assume the role of Lead Engineer and process supervisor.
