Who are we?


Varsity Management started in 1963 with a handshake deal between friends on a single property located in Ann Arbor.

Today, we are still a family-owned local small business. Operated by a second generation of University of Michigan alumni, now raising a third, we completely understand a students desire for quality housing at a good price in a great location.

Varsity manages 38 properties near University of Michigan Central Campus ranging from restored Victorian homes to fully remodeled modern apartments.

Though the business itself has changed a great deal since we first opened our doors many years ago, one thing has remained the same: our dedication to providing an exceptional housing experience that is always characterized by welcoming, personalized, and efficient service in order to maximize student success at the University of Michigan.

What do we need?


Our available position requires a warm friendly person with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Photography skills and knowledge of the housing market are advantageous. The role involves both administrative and customer-facing responsibilities, making it important to maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Prospective candidates should also have proficiency in office software and be adaptable to new technologies and tools. Additionally, they should be creative and proactive in improving leasing processes and be engaging with current and potential residents.

Administrative/Reception Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and answer phone calls with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Multitask effectively in a busy reception environment.
  • Organize and maintain documents and records.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail efficiently.
  • Digitize documents as needed.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and Google Workspace for various tasks.
  • Create and manage spreadsheets for data and information tracking.
Leasing Responsibilities:

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Assist potential tenants with their inquiries and provide information.
  • Bring creative ideas to improve leasing processes.
  • Ensure the company website is current.
  • Ability to take quality photos for marketing purposes.
  • Plan and execute resident appreciation days and housing fairs.
  • Monitor lease progress and payments.
  • Keep leasing documents and records well-organized.
  • Advertise available units on relevant websites.
  • Arrange and lead tours for potential tenants.
  • Document promises made to tenants regarding unit improvements.
  • Record Leasing Numbers and Provide market insights to owners for decision-making.
