Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join their company. The AP Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers. Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness, matching them with purchase orders and receipts. Process and code invoices in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process payments for approved invoices via checks, ACH, or other payment methods. Ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
  • Maintain and update vendor information, resolve discrepancies or issues with vendors, and address any questions or concerns related to accounts payable.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and statements, ensuring all payments and adjustments are accurately recorded. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payment records, and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Assist in preparing accounts payable reports and summaries for management review, including monthly financial reports and aging reports.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to accounts payable processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role or similar finance position.
  • Understanding of accounts payable processes, financial regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
