The Maintenance Technician I/II is "hands-on", has excellent diagnostic skills, can keep things running smoothly, work with contractors for maintenance tasks that are outside of core skill sets, develop a Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan, establish and maintain a spare parts inventory, and be an integral part of the team that plans and builds the next round of expansion. The work is fun, full of variety, and challenging.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and isolate equipment problems (mechanical and electrical).
- Implement repairs while minimizing impact to production.
- Establish and adhere to preventive maintenance schedule using web-based preventative maintenance software.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities.
- Establish and maintain a spare parts inventory.
- Support for non-routine work hours.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of the plant equipment.
- High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience installing and maintaining plant floor mechanical and electrical systems.
- Manufacturing, fermentation, or chemical product operations experience highly desirable.
- Expertise with biotechnology operations including fermentation and CIP/SIP is preferred.
- Majority of work is conducted in a fermentation production facility and includes frequent exposure to wet, humid, dusty, and noisy conditions.
- Work includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, walking, as well as occasional scooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- May be exposed to airborne particles and chemicals used in fermentation production facilities.
- Mandated use of company-issued uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
