The Tool and Die Designer is responsible for designing tools and dies utilized in the production of metal kitchenware, focusing on drawing, forming, and stamping processes. Designs may include blank and draw dies, compound forming dies, stage tooling, as well as associated jigs, fixtures, and potentially injection mold and die cast mold designs.

What you will get to do:

  • Design tools and dies for in-house manufacturing with punch presses
  • Design Jigs and fixtures for secondary operations
  • Develop draw dies and progressive dies
  • Develop custom machinery for product assembly
  • Collaborate with new products team to determine optimal manufacturing processes
  • Support tool makers and design team
  • Create and maintain tooling files (3D CAD and Engineering Drawings) to ensure physical tools match CAD files and accurately represent the final tool design, documenting all revisions to tooling
  • Generate tooling Bills of Materials (BOM) and initiate purchase order requests
  • Assist in troubleshooting tooling during assembly and in production environment

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Associate degree in Machining, Manufacturing, Tool and Die, or a related field preferred
  • 5 years' experience in Tool and Die designing or a related role preferred
  • Preference given to candidates with proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and solid models
  • Solid experience in metal forming tool and die design
  • Able to conceptualize and design tools to fabricate parts to specification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel, for effective communication and collaboration with colleagues
  • 3 Axis machining experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Injection Molding and Die Casting is beneficial but not required
  • Good technical skills and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong follow-through and time/deadline management
  • Ability to communicate with others and collaborate with a team
