Housekeeping Public Area Attendant

Join our team as a Housekeeping Public Area Attendant and be part of creating an impeccable and welcoming environment for our guests. As Public Area Attendant, you ensure all public and back of the house areas are cleaned and maintained according to company standards.

Role qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Position responsibilities:

  • Sweep and vacuum carpets and floors
  • Mop/clean surfaces, including grand staircase and guest elevators
  • Dust and polish fixtures, furniture and flooring
  • Clean windows, doors and glass
  • Empty garbage receptacles and ash trays in outside areas
  • Clean public restrooms, stock toiletries and soap as needed
  • Provide Turndown Service in guest rooms
  • Other duties as assigned

Housekeeping employees receive free transportation from Anchorage on a shuttle service that departs at 7:30 AM from the Midtown Mall. The shuttle departs Alyeska Resort at 5:00 PM to return to the Midtown Mall.

Essential skills and experience: Must have experience in using chemical cleaning agents and cleaning equipment effectively and safely preferred. Must have the ability to read, speak, and understand English to be able to communicate and read labels for product safety and emergency situations. Individual must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to interact with guests and co-workers in a positive and friendly manner. Previous related housekeeping experience preferred.

Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical demands: Ability to use vacuum, mop and use cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs., push 75 lbs. or more. Job requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, stooping and climbing stairs. Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
