Chant Engineering is a 54-year-old diversified engineering company located in New Britain PA, near Doylestown PA is looking for a Control Panel Technician. We design and manufacture heavy duty machinery for industrial and military customers. The Control Panel Technician will learn to build, troubleshoot and test industrial electrical control panels with minimal supervision.  Control Panel Technician and must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding on how to build, troubleshoot and test industrial electrical control panels.
  • Learn to layout, assemble and wire control panels.
  • Drill, tap, punch and mount components to panels.
  • Understand the sets to setup and test finished control panels.
  • Basic knowledge of Installing electrical components into a variety of industrial equipment.
  • Read and perform work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, and dimensioning layouts.
  • Understand the point-to-point wiring of components such as PLC’s, relays, motor starters and VFD’s.
  • Larn to troubleshoot electrical components that are shutdown or not running properly.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require.


Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience
  • Technical College preferred but will accept high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, schematics and dimensioning layouts.
  • Capable of using various hand tools.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
