Company Overview: HJC specializes in highway safety barrier system installation and maintenance, as well as road sign installation and maintenance for TXDOT. We are dedicated to providing high-quality services and ensuring the safety of our roadways. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory/Yard Coordinator to join our team in Amarillo, TX.

General Purpose: The Inventory/Yard Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory, maintaining the yard, and coordinating logistics to support HJC's operations. This role ensures the efficient handling of materials and equipment, promoting a safe and organized working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Count, receive, organize, pull, and return orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage job materials, ensuring they are received, organized, pulled, and returned as needed.
  • Handle PPE & consumables, including counting, stocking, and dispensing.

Yard Maintenance:

  • Maintain the yard, including fencing, vegetation control, building upkeep, and utility upkeep.
  • Coordinate scrap and trash bin pick-ups and drop-offs, sort materials, and facilitate the sale of used materials.
  • Ensure the yard is organized and clean to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment stored in the yard to ensure it is in good working condition.

Logistics and Coordination:

  • Coordinate with project managers and foremen to ensure timely delivery and return of materials and equipment.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments of materials and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and yard activities.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage and loss.
  • Facilitate the needs of subs, primes, and tenants in the yard.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in inventory management or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software for inventory management and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching to manage inventory and yard activities.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE as required.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
