Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology CWR

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Oncology is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. The RN will plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs, ensuring a patient-centric approach that aligns with professional nursing practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and assist physicians in providing care.
  • Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient assessments.
  • Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans for patients based on initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Initiate assessments based on patient needs, physician diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
  • Document care according to standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1+ years of oncology experience, or 2 years of med-surg experience with some experience in leukemia, lymphoma, or bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients.
  • Willingness to float between units as needed.
  • Proficiency in central line care and blood product administration.

Education:

  • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN).
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

  • Telemetry Certification
  • Chemotherapy Certification with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)

Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write)

Hours Per Week: 36.00
Hours Per Day: 12.00
Days Per Week: 3.00

Schedule Notes:

  • Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts.
  • Every other weekend required, holidays required.
  • No on-call requirement.
  • Minimum 13-week contract.
  • Must have at least 1+ years of oncology experience, or 2 years of med-surg experience with some experience in leukemia, lymphoma, or BMT patients.
  • Must be willing to float.
  • Chemotherapy certification with ONS preferred.
  • Proficiency in central line care and blood product administration required.
