SUMMARY: As a Sr. IT Specialist, you will assist the IT Manager in meeting the organization’s IT needs. The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving the technical systems of a company to ensure all employees have the technology they need to complete their work and the organization’s important files and information remain safe and intact. The Sr. IT Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of help desk support, with a strong understanding of network, server, security, systems and cloud applications.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the day-to-day operational activities of help-desk in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for IT infrastructure. Ensure data storage is safe and secure.
  • Directly provide IT services in the form of problem resolution, troubleshooting, training and support on any IT controlled equipment.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and application problems.
  • Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks.
  • Perform daily operational functions in support of mail systems, telecommunication systems, PC’s and networks.
  • Perform system maintenance on PC’s networks, and communication systems.
  • Answers, evaluates, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff.
  • Analyzes and evaluates incident reports and makes recommendations to reduce help line incident rate.
  • Calls hardware/software vendors to request service regarding defective products.
  • Writes or revises user training manuals and procedures.


KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: with a strong understanding of network, server, security, systems and cloud applications.

  • Requires considerable ability to: use good judgment in making routine decisions in accordance with existing laws, ordinances, regulations and departmental policies and procedures; establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with departmental personnel and customers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in related field
  • 4-6 years of experience and/or training


CERTIFICATES: MCSE, CCNA a plus


COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Proficient in MS Office

COMPENSATION: Base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $130,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and various factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
