Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven drayage Trucking Freight Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with experience in the transportation and logistics industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to generate new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing clients to maximize revenue from freight transportation and warehousing/ cross-dock services.


Responsibilities:

Business Development:

Identify and prospect potential customers in need of freight transportation services.

Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the customer base and achieve revenue targets.

Cultivate relationships with shippers, manufacturers, and other potential clients to understand their shipping needs and offer customized solutions.

Sales Presentations and Proposals:

Conduct sales presentations to showcase the company's services and value proposition.

Prepare and deliver proposals outlining pricing, service offerings, and contract terms.

Negotiate rates and terms with customers to secure profitable agreements.

Account Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing ongoing support.

Monitor customer accounts and proactively identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.

Market Research and Analysis:

Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.

Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and potential areas for growth.

Analyze sales data and performance metrics to track progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, dispatch, and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery.

Collaborate with colleagues to share insights, best practices, and strategies for success.

Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to team initiatives to drive overall business objectives.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.

Proven track record of success in sales, with experience in the transportation or logistics industry preferred.

Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools for tracking leads, managing accounts, and generating reports.

Self-motivated and proactive with a positive attitude and a strong drive for results.

Knowledge of freight transportation regulations, pricing structures, and industry terminology is a plus.
