Job Title: Plant Manager

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: VP of Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY

Plans and directs manufacturing, scheduling, and materials for the plant by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Highly engaged floor management working with all levels within the team and shifts.

Teach, train and support the launch process within production.

Promote and drive plant cleanliness, with a goal to ultimately implement 5S.

Create and maintain a culture with a problem solving first mentality versus tribal knowledge. Where problems are solved in that moment/process versus move them down the road.

Partnering with Human Resources and your leadership team to lead accountability and consistency of rules and discipline at all levels. While also striving to push and support a whatever it takes mentality for on time delivery. This includes motivating and rewarding the team to make this a normal everyday mindset.

Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance efficient operations.

Mentoring supervisors and production leads in building a solid foundation for the business and team members. This includes understanding of our processes and every team members job responsibilities.

Drive the development of your team by using the skills matrix system for employee happiness, cross training, and pay to make Metal Components a stronger more versatile company.

Oversee the development of the Manufacturing Engineering department and drive them to measurable success.

Manages the manufacturing process to maintain Company goals as it relates to safety/ergonomics, quality, on-time delivery, Gross margin or reverse engineering the actual cost of the product.

Ensures positive employee relations by assisting with the implementation of policies, evaluations, and promotions.

Desire to make employees engaged and committed to understand company goals using the tools implemented by the VP of Operations and the leadership team.

Team up with the scheduling team members and utilize the schedule system with a “can do” attitude to overcome and adjust abnormalities within the system.

Look for opportunities to add new technologies to enhance company capability and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs the required staff level and technical employees to manage/supervise a total of 100 employees and multiple managers. Is responsible for the overall direct coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, planning, assigning and directing work. In addition, conducting performance appraisals, disciplining employees, and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA or BS degree or 5 – 10 year’s related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and others as required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw and implement effective solutions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
