SUMMARY OF POSITION

Facilitates quality assurance activities for vendored programs to ensure the health and safety of individuals we serve, compliance with Title 17 and Title 22 regulations, and the implementation of appropriate services and supports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conducts annual program/facility quality assurance monitoring.

Leads the team conducting triennial quality assurance evaluations, conducting an intensive full day review of vendored residential facilities and the services each provides.

Investigates complaints and allegations of abuse involving vendors programs/facilities and intermediate care facilities. If substantiated, issues a corrective action plan (CAP) and conduct follow-up meetings to ensure the plan’s implementation.

Conducts Special Incident Report (SIR) follow-up investigations, coordinating activities with the agency’s directors, clinicians, consultants and when indicated, the planning team.

Coordinates the residential facility service level upgrade review process, ensuring compliance with Title 17 timelines.

Provides one-on-one and small group technical assistance training to program/facility administrators and/or staff.

Maintains updated regional center vendor files, ensuring that each contains current program design, business license, insurance, W-9 tax forms rate agreement and contract.

Attends interagency meetings including those held by Community Care Licensing, County Department of Mental Health, County Department of Children and Family Services, and the Southern California Regional Center Resource Development/Quality Assurance Group.

Periodically gives presentations to community groups regarding the developmental disability service system, the regional center, and the services and supports provided to individuals we serve and their families.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

A valid California driver license, vehicle and adequate automobile insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree (MS/MA) from an accredited university human services field. One to two years’ experience in the field of developmental disabilities. One to two years’ experience teaching or facilitating training sessions is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
