POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chemical Operator I, operates equipment or semiautomatic system that processes chemicals into specified products. Ability to operate at least 1 work cell

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow set initiatives to improve quality, cleanliness, safety, and productivity, and to reduce cost
  • Knowledge of specific area of operating equipment through on the job training
  • Knowledge of scales and measuring systems
  • Interact with QC lab and R&D
  • Build production batches
    1. Read, follow, Fill out and maintain batch paperwork
    2. load and offload chemicals
    3. Operate pumps and filters
    4. Monitor temps and run speeds
  • Trouble shoot basic equipment to determine problems, put in work orders for repairs
  • Maintain work area for housekeeping, safety and 6S
  • Work with team to achieve KPIs
  • All other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. 1-3 years of similar operator related experience (preferred)
  3. Certified to drive forklift required (or ability to certify within 90 days)

Knowledge & Skills

  1. Capable of working independently to manage day-to-day tasks
  2. Familiarity with an ERP solution (i.e. SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, etc.) (preferred)
  3. Creativity in approaching complex challenges and problems
  4. Ability to lift 50 pounds
