Administration Assistant 

 

Summary:

Central Downtown Preschool is looking for a part-time administrative assistant who will provide administration support to the director and teachers.  This position also requires some interaction with children including behavior management.  We are a flexible preschool and daycare where everyone supports and helps each other in various areas.  We serve a low income, diverse population and our mission is to show the love of Christ to the families and children that we serve.  The position will be 25 hours a week for 9 months. Pay will be hourly and benefits are not included.

August 14th - May 23rd

Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

 


Core Competencies:

  • Data entry on Procare
  • Recording, organizing, and updating student files in compliance with state licensing rules
  • Buying and organizing school supplies (continually checking supplies so always stocked)
  • Organization of books and school resources

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable with computers
  • Comfortable working with young children (helping with the restroom and assisting in behavior management)
  • Humility (putting the needs of the families we serve first)
  • Compassion (looking at those we serve through the eyes of Christ)
  • Communication (effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others in a diverse community including other staff and parents)

 

Staff Relationships:

  • The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Downtown Preschool Director.
  • The Administrative Assistant works with teachers to be organized and ready for their students and parents.
  • The Administrative Assistant will share space with church staff and work alongside them to keep office supplies stocked.
