Position Title: Maintenance Site Supervisor

Department: Facilities

Employment Classification: Exempt

Position Summary/General Description:

Under general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, incumbent is responsible for the overall operation/administration of all LDC facilities and/or maintenance activities in accordance with management directives, policies and procedures. Supervise and support personnel as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct, supervise and evaluate the work assigned to employees.
  • Inspect buildings, facilities and equipment for damage and/or vandalism. Ensure that repairs are made.
  • Maintenance of existing buildings.
  • Maintenance of heating/cooling units.
  • Maintenance of grounds.
  • Maintain inventory and order equipment/supplies as needed.
  • Ensure daily staffing and break schedules are maintained in the best interest of customer service.
  • Prepare and maintain files, records, reports and related documents in support of departmental activities.
  • Conduct staff meetings.
  • At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of services, amenities, surroundings, providing accurate directions, and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
  • Enforce LDC policies, rules, practices, procedures and other management control documents.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.
  • Two (2) years experience in general construction.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience in building maintenance or construction. Responsible experience may substitute, year for year, for required education.

Licensing & Certification:

  • Journeymen License in electrical, plumbing or HVAC field preferred.

Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:

  • Ability to type, prepare and maintain office reports and records.
  • Ability to maintain equipment/supply inventory.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to balance/climb, bend over, hear, stand and walk 51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to crouch/stoop, drive, kneel, reach overhead, talk, turn/twist and repetitive use of hands 25-50% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time; 25-50 lbs. 25-50% of the time; and 50+lbs. 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to carry1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time; 25-50 lbs. 25-50% of the time; and 50+lbs. 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to lift 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time and 25-50+ lbs. 25-50% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 25-50% of the time and 25-50+ lbs. 1-25% of the time.

Essential Mental Demands:

  • Requires the ability to solve problems, organize, and plan 51-100% of the time, and requires reading and writing 25-50% of the time.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The job requires hiring, promoting, compensating, training, disciplining scheduling, apportioning work among employees, directing, appraising productivity, measuring performance, planning budgets and terminating employees.

Work Environment (inside/outside):

  • This position works both indoors and outdoors. This position is occasionally exposed to fumes, gas, odors, dust, mists, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, heights, cramped quarters, oil, grease and dirt. A moderate to loud noise level is typical for the work environment of this job.

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
  • Must obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board and must provide/maintain a valid New Mexico drivers’ license.
