In 2002, Jose Ramirez opened the first Los Dos Potrillos (LDP) restaurant in Centennial after working in Denver area restaurants for decades. His two sons, Daniel and Luis, took over the business in 2019, and the flagship restaurant concept of Ramirez Hospitality Group (RHG) expanded to five restaurants in the south metro area. Included under the RHG umbrella is LDP Cerveceria, a brewery emphasizing Mexican-style lagers, LDP Express food trucks, Los Tacos catering concept, and LDP Cocina y Cantina.
RHG aims to have twenty-five restaurant concept locations in Colorado within five to eight years.

The Opportunity


The director of accounting and finance (director) will be a critical hire for the organization. Currently, RHGs accounting function is outsourced to a third-party CPA firm. This role will bring
the accounting function in-house and will play an integral part in working closely with the executive team as they grow and scale the business.

Position Responsibilities


The director of accounting and finance is a strategic member of the senior management team and a business partner to the chief executive officer and functional leaders of RHG. This person is responsible for corporate accounting, financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, treasury operations, external audit & tax, and other matters. This position reports directly to the chief executive officer and initially will be an individual contributor that will eventually build a high- performing team.

1. Corporate Accounting The director of accounting and finance will initially transition the accounting function from a third-party provider in-house and will be responsible for all aspects of the month-end close and the general ledger functions. This person will be expected to implement processes to ensure the financial results are completed timely and accurately. This person will be expected to convert the financials from a cash basis to accrual accounting.
2. Financial Reporting The director of accounting and finance will prepare the monthly financial statements and build a comprehensive financial reporting package. This person will ensure the financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and present the results monthly to the executive team. The director of accounting and finance must be able to explain the financial impact of new accounting rules and relevant pronouncements that affect RHG.
3. Financial Planning & Analysis The director of accounting and finance will be expected to develop an annual budget, forecasts, and KPIs to monitor the business's progress and support business decisions.
4. Treasury Operations The director of accounting and finance will assist the chief executive officer in managing the working relationship with RHGs bank and external financing sources. As part of this process, the director will help manage the Companys cash flow, including monitoring and posting daily cash balances, reviewing and posting cash receipts or disbursements, preparing cash flow forecasts, and preparing financial covenant compliance certificates.
5. External Audit & Tax The director of accounting and finance will be expected to help coordinate and provide information to the public accounting firm for the year-end audit. This person will also assist an external CPA firm with income tax filings by supplying the firm with any support data needed to prepare the return.
6. Other Matters Additional responsibilities include special projects from the chief executive officer. The director will be responsible for the organizations accounting activities and provide strategic financial guidance to the company's chief executive officer and operating executives.

Professional Background
1. A bachelor's in accounting or finance is required.
2. Mixed experience in accounting and finance is required.
3. CPA and public accounting experience (regional or smaller) preferred.
4. Five to ten years of professional experience.
5. Restaurant or retail industry with multi-location/entity or less than $100 million in revenue, dynamic and growing organizations.
6. MBA is preferred.
