JOB DESCRIPTION

NCS, a growing Texas based General Contractor leading in commercial development and construction, is searching for a Project Coordinator with previous Project experience in Retail and Restaurant construction projects providing Construction Management and Coordination. This role will assist the Project Team with the documentation and daily administration of the project.


The Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Project Manager(s) with planning, overseeing, and documenting construction activities for various Projects across the portfolio. Responsibilities include assisting in coordination of all activities of pre-construction, onsite construction management, 3rd party inspections, and project close-out. Assists with planning, monitoring and managing all aspects of multiple, small to large-scale construction projects including initiation, planning, execution, verification, and closure in accordance with internal process methodologies.


This individual will be responsible for completion of all assigned projects in a proactive and quality manner. The ideal individual must have a restaurant construction background and will maintain a focus on exceeding Client needs, expectations and schedules.

This position is Houston based with minimal travel required.


SUMMARY:

The Project Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for supporting a home office team with project planning and management. As an ideal candidate, you are highly organized with a proven history of project management. You are an outstanding communicator and work well with team members to achieve the best results for our client.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Supports the field and office through independent critical analysis of submittals, shop drawings and project plans and specifications
  •  Coordinates and tracks the RFI, ASI and IDC processes.
  •  Creating and submitting WOs and POs as requested by senior personnel.
  •  Assist in tracking project expenses and budget.
  •  Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, and approvals.
  •  Assisting with creation and submission of customer weekly reports.
  •  Reviewing project daily reports for clarity and accuracy
  •  Assist the Construction Administrators and other staff members with various administrative tasks as needed.
  •  Follow-up and coordinate with team members and consultants.
  •  Promotes Safety and assists with the implementation of all HSE programs, policies, and procedures
  •  Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.


WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Minimum of 2 years’ industry experience or in a similar role.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  •  Strong time management and organization skills
  •  Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Bluebeam/Acrobat
  •  Newforma knowledge is a plus.
  •  Have working knowledge of construction materials, building trades, and the products associated with them.
  •  Detail oriented and understanding of time sensitivity with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Subcontractor Management

  •  Maintains open communication with subcontractors.
  •  Works with PMs and Superintendents to recognize underperforming subcontractors timely with project notifications.
  •  Reviews subcontractors change order proposals for accuracy of quantities, conformance with contract documents and subcontractor scope of work.


Project Closeout

  •  Works with Project Manager in collecting all close out documents.
  •  Works with Accounting Department to close out all financials.
  •  Perform other related duties and assignments as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Project coordination: 1-3 years
  •  Construction management: 2 years
  •  Work authorization
  •  Deadline and detail oriented.
  •  Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  •  Must demonstrate managerial skills appropriate with this position.
  •  Must be PC proficient
  •  Document controls with Blue Beam, Procore and Adobe Acrobat Microsoft Office Suite: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams)
