Growing private Family Office is looking for talented professionals to be a part of a dynamic team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as Beach lifeguard on property for adults and children
  • Grabber on safety Jet-ski
  • On property & off property water safety activity guide/instructor
  • Boat Deckhand
  • Professional who provides ocean safety for all beach goers, with a primary focus on guests
  • Activity support: kids water recess, provide instructions and/or safety surveillance for adult and child water activities such as SUP, kayak, surf, foil, canoe paddle, snorkel, spearfish, etc.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to all rescues whether active or preventative
  • Maintains a clear line of sight of resident beach goers
  • Adheres to outlined Team SOG's, SOP's, EAP's, SIP's as it pertains to gear maintenance and organization, water safety guidelines, and execution of water activities.
  • Submits daily ocean reports
  • Assists in trailering, launching, retrieving, and cleaning of water vessels & equipment
  • Assists in any requests from Waterman Supervisor and/or Adventure Manager
  • Assists in any requests from guests directly from an ocean safety standpoint and/or ocean activity related (on the water and equipment needs) request. Examples include but are not limited to the following:
    • Helping to launch, gather, and/or administer use of equipment for participants (i.e. canoe, SUP boards, Efoils, ocean guardian equipment, etc) and/or escorting participants on the water if requested by the Adventure Manager or clients
    • Serve as a safety escort (i.e. SUP assist while clients spearfish, snorkel, swim, etc.) only when necessary or requested
    • Serve as an instructor for activities (efoil, sup, kayak, etc).
  • Responsible for maintaining Waterman Beach Lifeguard safety gear and equipment
  • Helps in assembling, organizing and mobilizing equipment necessary to execute activities.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and well maintained working area
  • Assembles Adventure Team related gear
  • Communicates promptly and directly with Supervisor when there are ocean safety concerns or tasks that arise such as:
    • Lightning, thunder, shark sighting, etc.
    • Equipment repair or replenishment of necessary materials needed to execute job responsibilities
  • Report any rescue or treatment administered to Supervisor on Duty.
  • Diligently communicate with daily threads on necessary beach activity (i.e. remaining guests; beach waterman will remain on duty until water activities commence).

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Lifeguard and/or ocean safety rescue certified
  • CPR & First Aid certified
  • EMT certified, not required, but preferred
  • Thrill Craft and tow certifications not required, but preferred
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date certifications and training certifications
  • Attends continuing education for water safety training and/or CPR and first aid
  • Possess great observation and safety preventative skills
  • Confident in making solo rescues
  • Confident and comfortable in ALL ocean conditions
  • Experienced and confident in providing ocean safety in high stress situations
  • Possesses a positive and hard working attitude
  • Patient, able to handle stressful situations and remain calm and collected
  • Resourceful, communicative, able to make on the spot decisions to adjust accordingly and appropriately to any given situation
  • Team player
  • Comfortable and confident interfacing with adults as well as children
  • Possesses some skill and confidence (or willing to develop) in instructing others in ocean related safety measures as well as activities
  • Possess as sense of hospitality and understands "white glove service"
  • Communicates well with others
  • Able to make quick yet smart decisions that ensure safety for everyone involved
Salary Range$50—$55 USD
