About the role


The ISP/OSP Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities for ISP and OSP under the Director of ISP/OSP. This position will work with department leaders to tailor action plans to each department and monitor progress against milestones and goals. The ideal candidate will exhibit the following behaviors: teamwork, innovation, respect, and accountability. Candidate must have experience dealing with construction sub-contractors and in-house construction teams.


Responsibilities:


The ISP/OSP Manager will perform critical tasks that ensure quality installation and upgrades of the fiber network.


  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department
  • Oversees Time and Attendance duties, e.g., approving timecards
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor installation subcontractor performance in accordance with:
  • SoW, Schedule, Budget, and Quality
  • Management of contractor relationships, warehouse/logistics multi-site operations, and operational market needs.
  • Oversee budgets and ensure resources are properly allocated.
  • Ensures departments are meeting predefined goals.
  • Manage the construction and engineering operations and schedules for our OSP/ISP FTTH network
  • Work with support staff to develop schedules, monitor production, and ensure adherence to set schedule and specifications.
  • Responsible for staffing forecast, placement, and replenishment of staff to meet the department's production requirements.
  • Management of outside contractor production and quality of work.
  • Develop strategies and tactics for improving operation efficiencies while improving service levels, employee retention and operational costs.
  • Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and maintains effective internal control.


Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of Operations Management experience; managing large, highly-complex, OSP/ISP FTTH projects.
  • Well-developed management skills
  • Experience coordinating work schedules in a dynamic environment to meet intermediate and completion milestones.
  • Experience managing OSP/ISP construction and vendor management including selection, contract, and negotiation processes, production tracking and reporting, and project closeout and retainage release.
  • Knowledge of network drawings, route maps and scopes of work interpreting fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance with scopes of work.
  • Robust knowledge of inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure, engineering design and construction, and the ability to work cross-functionally to design and build scalable construction, installation and support process.
  • Proven ability to motivate personnel to balance profitability and growth.
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with acquisitions and integrations is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess exceptional analytical skills, a high level of attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of telecommunications industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
