Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead manufacturing team to achieve quality, cost, delivery & mission objectives.
  • Set expectations for direct and indirect reports, deliver feedback and conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Manage departmental budgets, develop departmental operating procedures, and maintain work instructions.
  • Initiate and champion process improvement activities within manufacturing.
  • Hire and train staff that fit the Orion culture and mission.
  • Participate in the strategic planning process and creation of company and departmental goals.
  • Develop, manage and report departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Collaborate with other managers to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience in an AS9100 certified environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ERP software required, knowledge of Epicor preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and proven experience making process improvments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Wage Range:

The pay range for this role considers several factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, education, and other business needs.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material
  • Frequent use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and spatial relationship
  • Frequent use of hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Frequent use of speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed information, or convey instructions
  • Work is primarily performed in the office, with frequent time spent in the manufacturing shop, occasionally requiring the use of Safety Glasses
  • May be exposed to excess noise levels at times, seldomly necessitating the use of Hearing Protection
