Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Foster Parent Support and Recruitment Coordinator. This role is integral to our mission of recruiting and supporting foster parents throughout Delaware. You will work closely with community partners, facilitate group sessions, and develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract diverse foster families.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment efforts across Delaware, including attending community events, facilitating orientation sessions, and developing targeted recruitment strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, including faith-based organizations and hospitals.
  • Develop and execute social media recruitment campaigns, create promotional materials, and assist with advertising initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate foster parent support groups, ensuring that sessions are tailored to the needs of participants.
  • Provide ongoing support to prospective and current foster parents, including follow-ups and assistance with registration and application processes.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Family Services to monitor and report on recruitment activities and outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in foster care recruitment.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable and competent in leading group discussions for foster parents.
  • Ability to develop curriculum based on group feedback and needs.
  • Good de-escalation skills and works well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and community outreach.
  • Ability to create effective relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and lifestyles.
  • Good computer skills; experience with Canva or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for some evening and weekend work.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to establish partnerships with community organizations.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Ability to work with youth and families in a community setting.
  • Experience in facilitating groups.
  • Familiarity with community-based services in Delaware.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable access to a vehicle, and ability to travel regularly.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
