Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
The Governance Program Manager drives board activity, relationships, and workflows. This position will provide support and assistance to the Director of Public Health and Deputy Health Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate board meetings and other internal meetings
- Minutes and documentation
- Record-keeping and compliance
- Special projects
- Assist with administrative tasks such as travel coordination, finance forms, etc.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's or associate's degree in public administration, finance, business or related field. At least two years of experience in administrative work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Public health knowledge or experience preferred. Experience as a board secretary or clerk preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be extremely flexible, work independently, work as part of a team and possess good decision-making skills
- Possess ability to deal tactfully with others and to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions
- Ability to secure the cooperation of clients, to elicit needed information and to maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to plan and work collaboratively with community partners
- General knowledge of public health
- Thorough knowledge and experience with technology; intermediate skills for email, data entry, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Office 365; PowerPoint, Excel and Word
