What We’re Looking For


We are seeking a dedicated Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic team in Glendale, CA. We’re looking for a professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about tax and accounting. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and possess a solid foundation in tax regulations and accounting principles.

Senior Managers are essentially partners-in-training, and are involved in almost of all the areas for which partners are responsible. They have exhibited technical proficiency and the ability to supervise and complete engagements, possess a thorough knowledge of the firm’s policies and procedures, and serve as intermediaries between partners, clients, senior associates and supervisors. In addition, senior managers possess the experience and exhibit the overall potential necessary to be considered for admission as a partner in the firm.


What You'll Do


As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and overseeing tax engagements, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinating various phases of tax engagements, from planning through execution.
  • Plan the timing and assigning of staff to engagements.
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of associates, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Review engagement work papers, resolve any problems, and keep the partner informed of all important developments in the engagement.
  • Assist in administrative functions as assigned by the partners.
  • Prepare client billings.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and providing tailored advice.
  • Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
  • Assist in administrative functions as assigned by the partners.
  • Evaluate the performance of professional and administrative staff.
  • Analyzing complex tax issues and applying your knowledge to provide solutions.

Qualifications

  • Senior managers normally have at least eight years of experience including two years' experience as a manager (or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the partners).
  • CPA license.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with ASC 740, SSAP 101, Form 1120-PC, and Form 1120-L is preferred but not required.

Additional Information


This position involves working both in our office and at client locations, which may require occasional travel using your personal vehicle. While moderate overtime is a possibility throughout the year, peak periods may require additional hours to meet engagement deadlines.
