Property Asset Specialist


Shabas Solutions, LLC is a women-owned small business consulting firm providing expertise in scientific, technical, regulatory affairs, quality management, logistics, and project management to public and private sector organizations.

Shabas is looking for a Property Asset Specialist to work in the Greater Washington, DC, Metro area. The selected candidate will perform basic personal property functions. Performs complex personal property tasks and will typically support multiple custodial areas. Duties include assisting with physical inventories, reconciliation of inventory discrepancies, and preparing equipment for excess. The individual will be working at an independent level while performing property life cycle tasks.

A complete understanding of the life cycle of personal property is required.

Tasks you will be performing include but are not limited to:

  • Physical Inventory and quality assurance of results
  • Direct search and research of missing property
  • Direct search and research of property found on the facility
  • Collect supporting documentation for Property Requests (i.e., Loans, Trade-ins, Decal Deletions, etc.)
  • Work with lab managers and Accountable Users to reconcile missing property.
  • Decal newly acquired property and complete decal worksheets, which do not require further investigation.
  • Prepare documentation for Property Requests and obtain proper approvals (i.e., Loans, Trade-ins, Decal Deletions, etc.)
  • Maintaining all assigned responsibilities of the NPMP
  • Maintaining the assigned responsibilities in NBS
  • Perform, research and reconciliation of assigned records related to the annual inventory.

Location:

Greater Washington DC Metro Area on Site.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • ITIL or related certification in managing IT assets is a plus.
  • Must have experience with inventorying IT assets
  • A complete understanding of the life cycle of personal property is required.
  • 4+ years’ relevant experience required with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8+ years’ relevant experience required with a High School diploma
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills and research skills are required.
  • Prior work in a scientific research environment for a large Federal agency is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Logistic Management Manual (LMM) and the NIH Personal Property Management Guide (PPMG) or equivalent guides at other federal agencies is required.
  • US Citizenship or permanent residency is required, and one must be able to pass an extensive background check.
  • Must be available on-site to perform this role.
