Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance & Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will play a key role in building out the company's finance and accounting functions. They are looking for an adaptable individual with strong attention to detail who is hard-working, eager to learn, and collaborative.

In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing recurring accounting tasks and preparing more complex accounting entries, while also having the unique opportunity to help solidify the foundation of the companys accounting processes. Additionally, this role will support broader finance tasks, such as the annual budget preparation and ad-hoc financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently, be adaptable and collaborative, and have a willingness to learn and grow. Previous experience in accounting roles with increasing responsibility is preferred.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly recurring journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage payroll processing for hourly employees.
  • Handle sales tax returns and customer exemptions.
  • Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new finance and accounting systems and processes.
  • Support the annual budget preparation and recurring forecasts.
  • Contribute to the annual review of year-end financial statements.
  • Prepare ad-hoc and recurring financial analyses to aid management decision-making.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as needed to support overall business operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Active CPA license or currently pursuing the CPA exam is preferred.
  • Experience in apparel, retail, or consumer products is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
