Scope

 

❏ This document outlines the expectations for the Security Shift Supervisor. The supervisor ensures adequate support to the Command Security Services (CSS) Site Manager (SM) and Assistant Site Managers (ASMs). Duties include but are not limited to, the daily operations of the Moffett Federal Airfield (MFA) field security team and ensuring contractual requirements are maintained.

 

❏ The Security Shift Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services on a specific shift. Act as a liaison between the management team and professional security officers. Supervise staff on the assigned shift with the ability to train, coach, and mentor the team. Manage communications for emergency and non-emergency situations through radio dispatch, phone, and email. Respond to safety and security events, issues, staffing deficiencies, and other management requests. In this position, you will oversee security operations for effective unarmed foot patrols, control access, and egress, monitor electronic screening equipment and video surveillance, operate alarm systems, compose reports, and perform other duties described in your Post Orders.

Security Shift Supervisors Duties

➢     Support to the Site Manager:

○ Assist in implementing client and company policies, procedures, and protocols.

○ Collaborate with the staff to ensure seamless security operations.

○ Actively manage CSS security officers.

○ Assist in Uniform/Equipment oversight.

○ Assist in Company Vehicle oversight.

○ Provide excellent customer service to our clients.

○ Maintain client confidentiality.

○ Respond quickly to critical situations.

○ Ability to read and write detailed reports.

○ Enforce client procedures, regulations, and standards.

○ Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.

○ Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.

○ Reporting unusual activity or circumstances.

○ Inspects buildings and access points.

○ Respond to crowd and traffic control duties during emergency conditions as directed by the supervisor or management.

○ Ability to adhere to all Google policies, rules, regulations, and local and Federal laws.

○ Supports investigations, conducting surveillance, and gathering of facts.

○ Maintains the organization’s stability and brand reputation by complying with legal requirements.

○ Prohibiting unauthorized personnel and vehicular access to property.

○ Immediately report any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions that could cause fires, explosions, collapses, and other hazards.

○ Responsible for the proper care of all company and client-provided equipment, such as Cyber Keys, Radios, I.D. Badges and Vehicles upkeep.  

  ➢     Incident Response:

○ In the event of an on-site incident, follow the client's incident response plan.

○ Manage communications amongst relevant stakeholders.

■     Primarily via the MFA SSC & Google GSOC communication systems

■     Associated internal/external Chat groups

■     Any other method deemed necessary and or appropriate

○ Assist in maintaining accurate records of security incidents and activities.

 ➢     Communication:

○ Maintaining open and effective communication with the staff and designated vendor representatives.

○ Addressing any security-related concerns, inquiries, or updates promptly.

○ Assist in facilitating the monthly/quarterly CSS supervisor meetings.

○ Effectively operate communications equipment and smartphone technology

 
➢     Reporting and Documentation:

○ Assisting in maintaining accurate security incidents, inspections, and activities records.

○ Maintain and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures as needed.

○ Manage personnel ninety-day/annual review status for final disciplinary action requirements.

○ Be prepared to report metrics and numbers for client or company leadership.

Supervision + Team Development

➢   Staff Development + Management:

 ○ Ensure security officers observe, report, and prevent incidents by providing a physical presence.

○ Ensure security officers conduct effective security patrols. Observe, survey, and report activities at the assigned site.

○ Respond quickly to critical situations.

○ Respond to crowd and traffic control duties during emergencies as directed by client or management.

○ Supports investigations, conducting surveillance, and gathering of facts.

○ Ability to help train new security officer(s) as needed.

○ Assist in coordinating daily security operations, including shift schedules and personnel assignments.

○ Support security personnel in adhering to the client's and company’s appearance and conduct standards.

○ Maintain the organization’s stability and brand reputation by complying with legal requirements

Administrative Tasks

 ➢     Payroll, Scheduling, and Belfry:

○ Assist with payroll management as needed, become proficient in scheduling and all operational functions of the Belfry software suite as part of your daily duties. This will include overseeing personnel scheduling by coordinating with the CSS Administrative Supervisor &/or Payroll Specialist for scheduling.

○ Prepare and submit timely reports, including payroll issues and other data

relative to the security operations.

○ Submits new and innovative ideas to enhance job functions and company best practices.
