HBG Design is seeking an experienced Construction Administration Field Representative to serve as a vital liaison during the construction phase of our projects, effectively bridging communication between the Contractor, the Owner's construction representative, and HBG Design.
The Successful Candidate:
If you are looking for an exciting new place to grow, HBG Design is seeking an experienced CA Field Representative with knowledge of construction materials, building trades, means, and methods. This position requires specialized proficiency in effectively planning, organizing, implementing, and reporting pre-construction and construction related tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the construction process, client management, and collaboration.
The Position Responsibilities:
\tInitiate and conduct pre-construction meetings with Owner and Contractor.
\tReview and become familiar with the contract documents, including agreements and any supplemental information.
\tServe as the primary point of contact for the Contractor concerning status of RFIs and submittals.
\tParticipate in all Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
\tReview ASIs with the contractor.
\tReview pay applications, confirming percentage of work completed.
\tPerform site observation visits on a regular basis.
\tCoordinate and communicate any site issues with the Project Architect and consultants.
\tPrepare observations reports (field reports).
\tSupport submittal reviews as requested by the Project Architect.
\tAssist in-house CA staff in receiving, logging, and distributing submittals, RFIs, etc.
\tTogether with the Project Architect, aid in the review of the final close out documents and distribute to the owner per the contract.
The Required Qualifications:
\t10 years practical experience in contract administration and/or architecture; licensed Architect a plus.
\tExperience in the commercial construction industry, preferably with hospitality experience.
\tProven experience working directly on construction sites alongside the Owners Representative and Contractors to ensure strict adherence to all contractual guidelines.
\tExperience leading pre-construction meetings and facilitating communication between all members of the team throughout all construction phases.
\tThorough understanding of the construction process, techniques, materials, and standards and understanding of design and construction documents.
\tExperience with and understanding of AIA documents, particularly conditions of the contract, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders.
\tKnowledge of construction materials, building trades, means and methods.
\tUnderstanding of building codes and regulations.
\tAble to travel 8-10 days per month, primarily in the western sector of the United States.
\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
