SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Clerk will report directly to the A/P Supervisor. We are looking for a skilled professional to assist in the processing of all invoices received for payment and in the data entry of transactions in preparation of the monthly financial statements. This position requires accuracy and the ability to perform such tasks by specific deadlines.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage incoming mail, emails, and phone calls to the accounting department.
  • Entering invoices for payment.
  • Running checks.
  • Researching any past due invoices.
  • Organizing and filing of invoices, checks, and vendor information.
  • Scanning all checks and invoices into our storage system.
  • Data entry of monthly transactions.
  • All other duties that may arise to ensure the successful operation of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus, but not required.
  • Previous accounts payable experience preferred.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, accounting payable principles, and math skills.
  • Ability to make competent use of work-related equipment and materials.
  • Ability to remember information (e.g., policies, procedures) or locate resources to find information as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and tactfully with others.
  • Ability to work with other team members as well as independently.
  • Ability to shift back and forth between two or more tasks.
  • Cooperative, team-oriented, patient, calm under pressure.
  • Ability to arrange things in certain order (e.g., alphabetically, numerically)
  • Ability to produce results within an autonomous environment, within company guidelines and have the flexibility to identify and respond to changes in priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to all clients (customers and employees)
